Alicia Ehni [53663]

Born in 1972 in Lima, she lives and works in New York. She studied Fine Arts at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Lima, and received a BFA in Sculpture from Pratt Institute, New York. She is a 2018 NALAC Leadership Fellow, recipient of 2019 Pu n Foundation Grant, SHIFT Resident Artist 2018-2019 at The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, New York, and was awarded a residency at MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA, USA, for the summer 2019.
Alicia Ehni is a multidisciplinary artist who uses pure geometry and pre-Columbian iconography to address territory concerns in shifting landscapes. Her practice draws from personal and collective experiences of living in the Peruvian desert. She explores sculptural forms through combining distinct and often mutually exclusive cultural references, like superstition, Pre-Columbian iconography and architecture.
