Untitled (Still from Disappearing Act)(53778)

Eli Maria Lundgaard [53777]

Born in 1989 in Norway, she lives and works in Sweden. She holds an MA in Fine Arts from Malmö Art Academy, Sweden, and a BA in the same eld from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design, Norway. In 2019 she was nominated for Future Generation Art Prize, and due to this acknowledgement, her work was shown in the same year at PinchukArtCentre in Kiev and at the 58th Venice Biennale, in a collateral event.
She has presented her works at the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art in 2018 and 2016, the Onboard Program at the Antarctic Biennale, in 2017, as well as at several exhibitions and screenings in Scandinavia and other countries of Europe. In 2020 she will hold a solo exhibition at UKS in Oslo.
Eli Maria Lundgaard explores spaces where meaning collapses and when the boundary between different things shifts or disappears, aiming to manipulate, deconstruct and reconstruct the world around her, to erase or blur common definitions and concepts, and to look at what can neither be confirmed nor dismissed. She is mainly focused on video and sculpture.
