She was born in 1936 in Moscow, where she currently lives. She studied in the Design Department of the Berlin University of the Arts. She is a member of the Russian Academy of Arts. She is a world-famous artist and stylist, a pioneering figure in the eld of furs. She is nicknamed the “Fur Queen”, for her surprising and definitely unconventional combinations, and for the imaginative design, lines, elegance and comfort that render her clothing unique. For many years her collections have been displayed in fairs and fashion festivals in Frankfurt (Germany), New York (USA), Washington, Montreal, Lugano (Switzerland), Zurich (Switzerland), Almaty, Dallas (USA), Paris, London, etc. In 1967 she received an award from the Moscow International Fashion Fest; in 1992 she received the “Russian State Award in the Field of Literature and Art”, and in 1966 in Frankfurt (Germany) the “Swakara Award” for her exceptional contribution to the eld of fashion. In 2002 she instituted an annual competition for stylists, addressed to university students, colleges, and high schools.
