Patrícia Azevedo Santos [53873]

Born in 1984 in Porto, she lives and works in Portugal. She graduated in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto, and earned her MA in Art and Design for Public Space from the same institution. In 2011, she started her PhD studies in Public Art at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon.
Her first solo exhibition, Mobilidade relativa, was hosted in 2007 at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Porto. Since then she has participated in group exhibitions such as Alternativa International Contemporary Visual Art Festival, Gdańsk, Poland, in 2012, and Guimarães: 2012 European Capital of Culture, Portugal, amongst others. She took part in the exhibition Há Trabalhos na Fábrica, Complexo Industrial da Levada, Tomar, Portugal, in 2014, and Deslocalização, Espaço Campanhã, Porto, in 2010, among others.
In the course of her activity as a visual artist, she has maintained a recurrent and transversal interest, both in terms of research and praxis, on issues about dematerialization. Her work calls upon diverse media like drawing, painting, performance, photography, video and collage.
