Born in 1982 in Fort-de-France, Martinique, he lives and works in Paris. He earned his diploma (DNSAP) in Art from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
He has participated in major biennials and exhibitions, among others, in the 12th Havana Biennial; in the 10th Rencontres de Bamako – Biennale Africaine de la Photographie; in the 3rd Biennale Internationale de Casablanca, Morocco; in the SAVVY Contemporary, Berlin; in Les Filles du Calvaire Gallery, Paris; MAC – Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Santiago de Chile; and in the Galerie Le Manège, Arles, France.
He is a photographer, and he also works with video, installation, sound and objects. He is questioning and submitting some hypothesis around his medium. In his work, Steeve Bauras issues some warnings about the society or state of mind in evaluating reality.
